i think this has occur to the majority of us: wanting to go back to secondary school life, enjoy(not sure if this is the suitable word to use) life with your seniors and juniors, especially doing the activities you guys enjoy alot.
for my case, band would of course be the thing.
i have no idea if anyone would call this bragging a not, but i realise my taste for music has changed a lot.i prefer music with more emotions rather than pieces that are like eh... washington post march, chesford portrait.first piece's by john philip sousa, he's considered the king of marching pieces or something like that, according to mr Ong Xiao Chuan, my senior haha. chesford portrait's by james swearingen. never heard of these pieces? it's ok, came from a school that didn't play very difficult pieces at that time. but the pieces they are playing are much harder, good good.
so from pieces like that i move on to pieces like noah's ark, persis , alvamar etc. then move on to orchestral music. hoho, like carnival overture by dvorak, 4 seasons by vivaldi. eventually to concertos/solo pieces.
oh that brings me to mention. damnn. richard strauss' don juan is one complicated piece. though romantic period music it is, i find it hard to comprehend.
oh.. but modern pieces, like let's see... heh, rebroll , passion of christ , gilgamesh. all these are really wonderful pieces.wonder if they are consider literature for band music.
oh anyway, those people who are lost, you can actually ignore what i have said above.ha ha
and then there's music for movies , animes. those are the more down to earth kind of music i would say. they evoke people's emotions more easily i suppose. let's compare er.. let's see.. chopin's funeral march and gensomaden saiyuki's alone(piano solo i think), people will love 'alone' much more i guess. haha, chord progressions i guess. LOL!
somebody asked me how to be passionate again for music. honestly speaking i don't know. it very much depends on what will be able to motivate you. for my case, i will say joining band's one main factor, being inspired by someone, some piece is another factor and the music you are playing listening are always some stuffs to consider.. practicing an instrument can be a chore if you think it is, but you can always think likewise =) . okay that just sounds dumb but then.. haha. that's one way to be love music again i feel...
damn the headache, been having that feeling since i woke up today. it's like water getting into your nose by accident those kind of feeling then the water's trapped in your er.. head? ya. that kind of feeling damn uncomfortable.especially when i bend down, look down. grrrr...
flute lesson ha. i think i really let lao shi down.. ok damnit, shall really practicing really slowly to get the tone out on every note. use my ' body energy' on every note, make EVERY NOTE clear.
so this is the path... i am choosing. no regrets i hope.2 days left behind the actual thing, before judgement day.lol. sounds so apocalyptic.
ok..flute and piano. here i go, before the headache worsen
