I have come to realise, out of all Beethoven's Piano Sonatas.. Seems like Moonlight's the one i loved the most right from the start even till now..
The start. The over-ly played one. The dreamy one.
Ok fine, though classical period is suppose to be absolute music, i like to say i can picture a story in my mind for moonlight sonata.
The 1st movement started off moody. really moody, or emo as some of us may call it today. The depression, the heaviness and everything sad is just all in your head, the suicidal thought(now, isn't this familiar) The feeling of everything's lost.
And just when you thought everything was lost, a ray of light shines into your window, and you see the peacefulness outside where people are happy, then comes the parade passing by and then the peacefulness comes back.
that was when, the outburst of emotion comes in. In the finale/ok fine, last movement. all the energy comes poof and all anger, emotions are being poured out as if there's not enough time and you must have it done with very little rests and breaks in between to get whatever you need to do to be done and ends with a loud bang.
